Blog #7: FlatPlan

Image
Flat Plan Hey everyone! Today I'm going to be showing you my flat plan for my magazine. The flat plan is a page plan of a publication that shows how the articles and advertisements are laid out and the order it is supposed to go in.  So, for my Flat plan, I decided to add 2 feature stories and 4 sub-stories. I also added 9 advertisements as well as a crossword puzzle and a word search. As I was making this, I came across a struggle of being able to only do desi clothes. So, in the future, I might add other cultures and change the title of my magazine, so it isn't zoned in on one particular culture. But for this "issue", I can feature a certain country or countries, this one being India and all the Southern Asian countries. The word search and crossword can include other countries and different types of clothing items different cultures wear.

Magazine Genre Plan: Hey everyone! Today I'm going to be talking about what I plan on doing for my final magazine and this is to keep my thoughts in order of what I want. I made a visual of the things I plan on putting in my magazine, which include the genre, the type of stories, type of ad's, color, target audience, type of photos, other ideas, and fonts.  The name of my magazine id going to be called Desi Designers, but I also was thinking of Desi Designs to make it short. The genre of magazine I want to go for is a Fashion Magazine, but for my cultural clothes. I have mostly pink and vibrant clothes so that is going to be my color scheme. Some stories I can add for each picture can be the event I went to for each outfit and also do an analysis about each outfit and why it's amazing. I want to target Desi people specifically, and make it sound like they can buy and wear it. The type of pictures I would use would be one's from events, family photos, and model shots. ...

Blog #5: Health Magazine Analysis

Image
Health Magazine Analysis Hey everyone! Today I made an infographic after doing an analysis on "Prevention" magazine. I'm also going to be comparing and contrasting Prevention to Good Housekeeping and New Scientist Magazine.  After doing an analysis on Good Housekeeping and New Scientist, the aspects that they are similar on is the consistency of how the magazine is structured. They both have the mastheads in the middle and the fonts are all consistent. The things that you can differentiate from them are the coverlines because Good Housekeeping doesn't have any and New Scientists  coverlines are put in a neat fashion.
