Blog #1: Magazine Portfolio Overview

Hey! This is my first blog post and I am very excited to be sharing the process as I create my AICE Media Studies Magazine Portfolio. Speaking of, my portfolio must include the following:

  • The Cover
  • The Table of Contents
  • A 2-page spread.
Here are some examples of Magazines that I am familiar with:

I wasn't really into magazines until a couple of months ago as I started keeping up with Billboard Magazine. I am a music fanatic and love listening to different genres, predominantly Korean Pop. I also love looking at old fashion magazines because it gives me a sense of nostalgia and basing some of my fashion choices on those magazines. Some things I do like about magazines are that they can reach target audiences, are visually pleasing, and are great for advertising and exposure. Magazines are astonishing, but I'm not too fond of when they include too much clutter on the cover. It looks better when it's clean and polished. As I create my portfolio, I will use the Billboard magazine examples for a simple look. I am excited to move on with this component.
