Spread Draft


Hey everyone! Today, I am here to show my 2-page spread draft. I already have the story written out, but I still need to tweak a few things here and there. I also created an original headline and subheadline and found a few new fonts I will most likely use for the magazine. I added the page numbers determined from the page numbers on my flat plan. There are a few placements I want to change and add other elements to make the spread clean. Lastly, I added a car sticker to cover the whitespace left there, but once I move things around, I can find a new place to put it or find a new sticker to replace it.

Blog #7: FlatPlan

  Flat Plan Hey everyone! Today I'm going to be showing you my flat plan for my magazine. The flat plan is a page plan of a publication that shows how the articles and advertisements are laid out and the order it is supposed to go in.  So, for my Flat plan, I decided to add 2 feature stories and 4 sub-stories. I also added 9 advertisements as well as a crossword puzzle and a word search. As I was making this, I came across a struggle of being able to only do desi clothes. So, in the future, I might add other cultures and change the title of my magazine, so it isn't zoned in on one particular culture. But for this "issue", I can feature a certain country or countries, this one being India and all the Southern Asian countries. The word search and crossword can include other countries and different types of clothing items different cultures wear.

Blog #12: Magazine Style Guide

  Magazine Style Guide Hey guys! For today's blog, I have created a magazine-style guide on Canva. I made this to show y'all the style I want my magazine to be and improve my Canva skills. I named all the fonts I wanted to use for the elements of my magazine. I included the MastHead, Coverlines, Article headlines and subheadlines, and the caption details and headers. I wanted to use neutral colors for my color palette but add details that would also make it pop.
